    The vision of the media department:-

     The vision of the Media Department stems from the belief of its cadres in the importance of the media in our time, and its belief in its ability to be one of the most prominent sources that provide media institutions with graduates who are able to practice media work with high professionalism and objectivity that enables them to keep pace with the rapid media developments and provide high-level academic programs characterized by modernity, and to upgrade graduates The department has reached the level of excellence and high competitiveness, and in order to achieve this vision, the department has been providing all the requirements of halls, modern technologies and studios in line with modern education standards.

    Media Department Message:-

     The department aspires to be a pioneer in supplying media institutions in the public and private sectors with scientifically and professionally qualified graduates in the field of media, with effectiveness, professionalism, objectivity and high transparency and develop their creativity and critical thinking in scientific research and the applied field, consolidating their professional and ethical values ​​to serve the community. As well as striving to provide an educational environment capable of developing students’ talents and preparing them for the requirements of the labor market (public and private sectors) and graduate studies in line with the spirit of the times and technological development in all branches of media.

    Objectives of the Media Department:

    The objectives of the Media Department are linked to one of the main objectives of Al-Isra College, the private university, which seeks to deepen the knowledge and thought of students, and urge them to scientific research and investigation of accuracy with the aim of serving the community through: Keeping pace with the technical development related to the media production systems, read, audio and video. Keeping pace with scientific development in the fields of media production and marketing.

    Training students on how to use technical devices to develop their media and technical skills. Providing a positive environment that stimulates creativity and develops personal abilities and skills. Assisting students in obtaining appropriate training in various media institutions. Spreading knowledge and enhancing scientific research cooperation with local, Arab and international scientific institutions.

    The department also aims to provide its students with information through theoretical lectures and practical applications in the fields of journalism and radio and television journalism as an ambitious future goal, through teaching and training students to qualify them in the following fields: Familiarity with the art of journalistic and radio writing skills. Emphasis on credibility Collecting and analyzing information, conveying the truth to the public honestly, and exposing falsehood and media misinformation.

    Develop students' skills in writing reports and research according to media research methods. Develop students' skills in how to formulate accurate, objective, clear and ethical media messages. Qualifying students to abide by the media regulations, standards, laws and legislation that regulate media work.

Graduate Description
  • Description of the graduate
         Duration of study and degree awarded:
    The duration of the study in the Department of Mass Communication at Al-Israa University College is four years, during which the student completes the study requirements related to the number of theoretical and practical hours that he obtained according to the laws and regulations of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and that he has passed evaluation processes such as exams, training evaluation, completion of graduation research and other graduation projects With an applied capacity, the graduate student will then be granted a bachelor's degree in mass media, with one of two majors: journalism, and radio and television journalism. The subjects, hours and study units for these four years are divided as shown below:
    1- The number of subjects taught by the student in the Department of Media is 50 subjects, of which (38) are in the radio and television journalism branch, and 36 subjects are in the journalism branch.
    2- These curricula were developed to keep pace with the needs in the labor market and are constantly updated to keep pace with the latest global developments. This year, within workshops under the supervision of the Deans Committee of the Faculties of Arts, Languages and Information, the development of knowledge resources for the curricula was issued. and media faculties in Iraqi universities 2015/2016) on behalf of the Research and Development Department in the Ministry, and the Ministry has approved the work on the project gradually, and what has been introduced has been applied to the first-year curriculum starting from the academic year 2016/2017 until this year.
    3- Evidence for the suitability of the curricula to the needs of the labor market is abundant, including the continuous and growing demand for graduates of the department, and the conformity to some extent with the changes in the various practical sectors.
    4- The department and the college seek to make the necessary updates in the scientific curricula through central and sub-committees and to adopt modern books and methodology in teaching students, in addition to unifying the curricula of university subjects such as freedoms, human rights and democracy as part of the requirements of the university.
     
    • Graduates of the Media Department have the opportunity to work in many places and have available job opportunities, including:
    1- graduate of the Media Department, the Journalism Branch, can possess the skill of working in the following areas: a journalist reporter, a news representative, or a news editor, a photojournalist, a writer of newspaper articles and columns, and journalistic investigations, as well as the possibility of conducting press interviews.
    2- A graduate from the Media Department, Radio and Television Journalism Branch, can work in various fields, namely: radio or television director, radio or television program preparer, news presenter, and various programs presenter on satellite channels.
    3- Designer of press, television and electronic advertisements in advertising institutions.
    4- It is possible to work in the field of marketing and advertising in companies and various governmental and private institutions
    5- A media spokesperson or spokesperson in government institutions.
    6- Managing social networking sites, editing news, commenting on it, and verifying its authenticity.
