About
  • Department Overview:
The department is one of the important technical engineering departments that provide the community with field-trained cadres capable of carrying out construction and building works, in addition to the extensive knowledge of modern designs and technologies used in construction and construction .
The department’s presidency and the supporting committees have set precise plans to develop the students’ mental abilities in order to achieve the desired goals of the department and to graduate qualified technical engineers who are able to move the labor market and influence it to clearly serve the country. This comes by providing them with knowledge, training them in workshops and laboratories, and directing them towards creativity and innovation .

Vision, mission and goals
  • Vision:
To build the abilities of our scientific outputs to achieve progress and improvement and to ensure the quality service of the community and labor market.
    Message:
To professionally train the outputs to cope with progress and to reflect that on the basic curriculum in order to promote the cognitive field and analyze the labor market requirement and also to attend the scientific inputs.
    Objective :
1- To raise the standard of outputs through the application of scientific programs of the twin institutions.
2- To focus on the practical, cognitive , skillful and individual side in teaching.
3- To assess the technical problems and to test the alternative technology through applying the engineering professional criteria to achieve balance among the technological, ecological, ethical, economic and policy consideration.
4- To ensure ability of our outputs to actively manage change in teaching institution in order to respond to the variables.
5- To help our outputs grasp the commercial manipulation of construction technology.
6- To promote our outputs abilities to work as a team and also to actively work independently or in groups.
7- To promote the grip of talents on time management.
8- To promote our outputs abilities to assess others ideas and to redesign them according to labor market requirements.
9- To enhance the ability to find out data that continuously reinforce work.
10- To increase the engineering awareness of our outputs and helps them to make decision and find out solutions for engineering problems within a strategic framework.

Graduate Description
  • Graduate Job Description:
    • Designing and supervising the implementation of all works related to engineering projects such as buildings, bridges, roads, airports, tunnels, dams, hydraulic installations, factory building units and pre-stressed concrete units.
    • Conducting all field, on-site and laboratory tests (destructive and non-destructive) on all construction materials and soil, reading their results and matching them with standard specifications.
    • Reading, preparing and executing construction and architectural maps, calculating their quantities and costs, concluding contracts for projects, and using the computer extensively.
    • Organizing and managing various construction projects using modern methods and using computers and familiarity with professional methods in construction work in addition to studying construction machinery in terms of its productivity, operating costs and methods of use.
    • Dealing with modern construction materials, new locally available alternatives, and additives in concrete works and soil stabilization works for important projects.
    • Maintaining buildings, roads and other projects and controlling the issue of environmental pollution as a problem of the times.
    • Expanded use of modern surveying devices to create topographic plans and profiles, divide lands, determine road paths, and draw longitudinal and transverse sections.
