The Department of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Techniques Engineering is academic and technical in nature and was established in Baghdad in 2012_2013 under Ministerial Order (c). e/1018), dated 21/2/2013. The Department accepts the graduates of the preparatory study in its scientific branches and for the morning and evening studies and graduates of specialized institutes (machinery and equipment, mechanical techniques, production, operation and maintenance, pumps and agricultural machinery). as well as graduates of industry and disciplines themselves. The period of study lasts in the section (4 years), after which the graduate is awarded a bachelor's degree in conditioning and refrigeration techniques (technical engineer). The Department seeks to provide educational services using modern scientific methods and technology. Its curricula are up to date with the latest international developments and applications. The Department specializes in the numbers of cadres specialized in the fields of heating and cooling as well as in renewable energy and power plants.

To develop the study  quantitively  and qualitatively and in line with the basic objectives of the university in creating new paths in the undergraduate studies to be in line with modern technological developments so that the disciplines and research are in compatible with the scientific development of the country according to the successive discoveries and the rapid progress of science and technology in all facilities and activities of contemporary human life.
